If you’re like me, you’re wondering why we’re talking about the 4th of July.... Well, it will be here before you know it and there are some
details that you should know...
Are you aware that the Allendale Township
Budget has cut the annual Fireworks from the 2010 budget? Not that we won’t have our
annual 4th of July celebration, but we need
to tighten our belt, just like everyone else.
Did you know that the annual 4th of July celebration is our only continuous, township celebration that is still held each year?
There are historic photos showing folks
gathered in the early 1900’s to
celebrate the 4th of July.
There are costs involved in everything
and the 4th of July is not exempt.
But that cost is absorbed by some
very generous sponsors so that you can
have a “free” day of family fun.
If each household, in Allendale gave a $5.00 donation to the 4th of July fund it would cover all expenses (including the fireworks!)
