The Veterans Garden of Honor was constructed as a "keep sake" of our communities 150th Anniversary, which took place in 1998.  This project was partially funded by selling bricks.  Many area residents, past residents and people from neighboring communities  purchased bricks to assist in the funding.  For more information click here for the Veterans Garden of Honor website.

Allendale Memorial Garden

The Memorial Garden is an area on the north west corner of the Allendale Community Park, used to
honor loved ones who have passed away. The trees, gardens and benches in the memorial area have been donated to honor loved ones. In the center of the garden is a original art sculpture, designed by Grand Valley State University art students Brian Caponi, Zyra Castillo, Ruby Miller, Andrew Tankersley,
and Teresa Zbiciak.

The curved walls of the sculpture simulate a geographical map of the Township, with a simulation of the Grand River forming the top border water feature.  Embedded in the sculpture are bronze castings of everyday objects used by Allendale residents and a topographical map of Lake Michigan Drive.
