A Year in Review
By Larry Haveman
2007 was another busy year for the Maintenance Department!
Improvements made to the Township Park were a sidewalk on the west side of the pond, new playground equipment, tennis/basketball court
renovations, a new soccer field with goals, picnic shelter renovations, new picnic tables, new fence for ball field #1, and the installation of
surveillance cameras.
Other projects the Maintenance Department is working on are the park feature on the northwest corner of the park, “The Landings” sign at the northwest corner of 64th Ave. and Lake Michigan Dr., Henry Street landscaping, lighting and irrigation, and new sidewalk installations.
The Maintenance Department maintains the sidewalks, landscaping, and lights along Lake Michigan Drive. This department also maintains the Township Library, Township offices, and park buildings, along with the upkeep of the associated equipment. Becky McGee and Brenda Borst are contracted to clean the inside of the Library and Township office buildings.
The Maintenance Department also maintains the cemetery grounds with help from work
release crews from Ottawa County Jail. To contact the Maintenance Department call
