Mission

Allendale Historical Society works toward preserving and promoting the history of Allendale.

Historical Museums

The Allendale Historical Society maintains two museums, which are part of the Allendale Community Park...the Knowlton House Museum and the 1940’s –60’s Museum

Knowlton House Museum

This museum is located at 11080 68th Avenue.  This museum covers the time period from when Allendale was settled in the 1890’s, and even before when the Ottawa tribe lived in the area. 

The Knowlton House Museum is open for tours.  Just call Currators Betsy Groendyk at 895-9777 or Pat Gemmen at 895-6412.

The 1940’s—1960’s Museum

40-60 museum

This museum is located at 11100 68th Avenue.  This is a new museum, which will also be open for tours.  Just call Curators Ruth Tanis at 895-4327 or Alvina Meyer at 875-7505.

Museum Gardens

The Historical Society invites the public to stroll through the gardens of the museum grounds, located around the museums.
